Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser

This is one of those products where I feel like maybe I've got a duff tube, or was given the wrong colour, or I must have the worst skin ever. Skincare goddess Caroline Hirons swears by it, the Space NK girls who sold it to me raved about it and promised me I would love it, it has 5* reviews everywhere I look but I find Just Skin totally frustrating.

Why did I buy it? Well I wanted an every day tinted moisturiser that was going to make me look and feel great but natural and glowing with minimal effort. I don't have bad skin though I do have a bit of redness so I thought I could get away with a light coverage. I'd heard so many good thing about the Chantecalle Just Skin that I thought I would take the risk and splurge the rather eye-watering £58 required and was really pleased when there was a Chantecalle make-up artist in Space NK to colour match me.

I parted with the required money and a tube of the tinted moisturiser in Bliss. It's not bliss at all I feel a bit grumpy every time I use it. The coverage is minimal, barely there, so barely there that I have to use a lot of concealer to even out the skin tone and around the eyes and nose. Should I have gone a shade darker? Maybe but even if I should have done surely I'd still be having to use the concealer.

I then tried it with a nice primer underneath and still it made me cross. I found this product to be less good than the Estee Lauder EE Cream which at £32 is a fraction of the price, gives a lovely light, glowing coverage but really does help to even skin-tone.


It has a lovely lightweight texture and finish and would be great to use on men but I was expecting more from this product - I am genuinely disappointed. 

Is it just me? Should I be taking it back to Space NK to speak to them about it - I feel wronged that I was sold something at such a whopping price that isn't right for me. I feel like I should have been given better advice but then I am clearly in the minority, with so many rave reviews knocking around.
