This Works Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser

This Works Gentle Cleanser I've been using this every morning for a couple of months. I'm still using Coconoil in the evening to remove my make-up but as I use retinol at night I wanted a gentle, non-greasy, quick cleanser to use in the morning. This Works Clean Skin Gentle Cleanser... well it pretty much has it all covered in the name so I thought it was worth giving it a go.

It's pretty much just what I was needing though it's one of the least exciting cleansers I've used - that's no necessarily a bad thing. Two pumps into my hands, rubbed onto my face and rinsed off with a warm flannel and that's it. My skin is always completely cleaned and although there is occasional redness it does not sting or stay red and my skin does that for everything at the moment but it's rare for it to not burn - and it doesn't burn when I use this.

While it's not deeply moisturising it's in no way drying, as a lot of cream cleansers can be, and you don't get any tightness after using. All of this makes it a very nice morning cleanse - it's not adding too much to your face pre-make-up though some may want something a bit more moisturing - i.e. those people who love a balm/oil cleanser.

Some reviewers have found that this does not remove all your make-up. It removed mine but I make sure I rub it in lots and rinse well with a flannel and warm water. It won't just melt your make-up off easily like a balm or oil cleanser. I love a really thick balm cleanser, morning and evening, but I know that some people just want something then can rub on and wash off easily and this is it. This would be a great cleanser for someone who wanted something simple and easy and who didn't wear much make-up.

At £19 it's not going to break the bank but it's not wow-y either. I think I may go for the cheaper Ultimelt from Soap and Glory if I had to choose. But that's based on personal preference (the Ultimelt is a bit thicker and quite a lot cheaper) but they are much of a much in my book. One of the first products I tried from This Works was the dry leg oil and it is fantastic. Everything else I've tried from this brand has left me slightly underwhelmed but I know a lot of people who swear by it. I guess it's just one of those brands - and I will keep trying as I want to love it. It's available from Ocado and it's cruelty free so this will be perfect for a lot of people.
