Modern Apothecary

I love a small brand that does a few products really well and Modern Apothecary is one of those. Their products are formulated using Cacay Oil which is naturally full of Vitamin E, Linoleic Acid and Retinol so it targets signs of aging, dehydration whilst providing a huge antioxidant boost to the skin. Research has shown that Cacay Oil can improve firmness, hydration, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, reduce redness and sensitivity.

Modern Apothecary Skin Elixir and Face, Hair & Body Oil

I've been using three of their four products for the past couple of months and have really loved them, especially the Total Face, Hair & Body Hydrator and the Skin Elixir. A little of both goes a long way which makes these incredibly reasonably priced - the Skin Elixir is £19.95 and the Face, Hair & Body Hydrator is £14.95. And it's really lovely to work with such an ethical company.

I really love to use an oil on my hair when it's damp after washing but finding one that doesn't leave an oily residue can be tricky. This has kept my hair feeling healthy and looking good without the horror of the post-dry oil slick or weighing the hair down. It's also lovely on the skin, I like to use it while my skin is still damp after the bath. It's a fantastic multitasking product for those who travel and it's 50ml so fine to take in your hand luggage.

The Skin Elixir has been a great alternative to the Garden of Wisdom Prickly Pear Seed Oil which is my go-to nighttime oil after my serums. Again it absorbs nicely into the skin and left it feeling hydrated, supply and looking beautifully glowing in the morning. Use this before your moisturiser but I find that this on it's own works beautifully, and I have a tendency to dry skin so I really rate this for hydration.

It's also a very planet-aware company - sustainably sourced, cruelty-free and the products help reforestation and create jobs for communities in areas of conflict. The bottles are glass and the Cacay Oil in the products is cold pressed and that's it, there are no preservatives or chemicals added.

If you are looking for an ethical British brand who's products actually work than this is a lovely company to try.

What You Need to Know - Modern Apothecary

I was sent this product but the choice to feature it was my own and this is an honest review
